Shares in Minmetals Resources (01208.HK) rose more than 11 percent as they resumed trading on Friday afternoon after being suspended at the end of May.
In its latest announcement, the company said it thanked the Peruvian government for its efforts to resolve the impasse. The company welcomes the agreement reached by the Fuerabamba and Huancuire communities to end their protests and participate in a government-led dialogue tentatively scheduled to begin on June 15 for 30 days.
Production and concentrate shipments at the Las Bambas copper mine are expected to restart on June 11, 2022 (Peru time).
